What began in 2014 as an internship has since developed into an eleven-year career for Tim van den Dungen at Vencomatic Group. After his internship, he went on to complete a vocational training programme and remained with the company. “I basically just stuck around after my internship,” he says matter-of-factly.
Tim was born in Bergeijk and lives in Luyksgestel. As a result, he was already familiar with the Vencomatic Group from the local area. “I came into contact with the company through mutual acquaintances. The combination of learning and working appealed to me, and it turned out to be a good choice.” He started out as a wire fitter, then spent some time in the service department before moving to the testing department within Engineering – where he now works as a Test Engineer.
There’s always something to do
Although Tim has a fixed workstation, every day is different. The core of his work is often the same, but other tasks regularly crop up in between. That is exactly what makes the job enjoyable for him. “Especially now that colleagues are sometimes temporarily absent, I take on extra work. That gives me a bit more responsibility and keeps the work varied.”
What’s just as important to Tim are the people he works with. They clearly make him enthusiastic. “The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. You don’t have to pretend to be anyone other than yourself here,” he says.

“Typical of the Kempen and Brabant regions,” is how Tim describes the culture within the Vencomatic Group. “Many of my colleagues are from the region, and you can tell that from the way we interact with one another. The lines of communication are short and hierarchy hardly plays a role. Whether you’re talking to a team leader or a close colleague, the interaction is simply normal and open.” That sense of equality is indispensable to him: no one feels superior to anyone else and everyone is willing to help one another.
Work that matters
“The agricultural sector—and the Vencomatic Group’s contribution to it—is a world that is unfamiliar to many people, yet one that is of great significance. The technology developed here has a global impact on the poultry sector,” and that is precisely what makes the work so rewarding for Tim. Thanks to innovation, digitalisation and new developments, the work remains constantly relevant and interesting.
Continuous learning is part of the process
Tim believes it’s important for new colleagues to know that they can always turn to others for help: “Whether it’s questions, ideas or an interest in other areas of work – anyone who wants to learn and shows initiative will be given the opportunity to do so.” That’s precisely why he’s so enthusiastic about the Vencomatic Group as an employer.
